Correct storage plays an important role in helping professional lash products perform as intended. The BRIK & PEARL® system has been formulated for professional salon use, and following the recommended temperature guidelines will help support product stability, consistency and performance.
The good news is that for most air-conditioned salons, BRIK & PEARL® can be stored easily alongside other professional beauty products without the need for refrigeration.
What Temperature Should BRIK & PEARL® Be Stored At?
BRIK & PEARL® Step 1 Bond Flex™ and Step 2 Bond Lock™ should be stored:
- Below 24°C
- Above 4°C
- Away from excessive heat
- In a stable indoor environment
Most salons with standard air conditioning will naturally sit within this recommended temperature range, often around 20°C to 22°C.
For this reason, normal salon storage is generally suitable, provided the space does not become excessively warm when the air conditioning is switched off.
A cupboard, treatment room storage area or professional product space away from direct heat sources is usually appropriate.
How Long Can BRIK & PEARL® Be Used Once Opened?
Once opened, the product has a 3-month period after opening.
To make this easy for artists to track, the bottle artwork includes a dedicated space where you can write the date the product was first opened.
We recommend adding the opening date as soon as you begin using a new bottle. This simple step makes it easier to manage salon stock, keep track of product freshness and ensure the product is being used within the recommended period.
For busy salons working with multiple bottles or treatment rooms, getting into the habit of dating each bottle when opened can also make stock rotation much simpler.
Do I Need to Store BRIK & PEARL® in the Fridge?
In most salon environments, refrigeration should not be necessary.
If your salon remains below 24°C, including during periods when the business is closed, your BRIK & PEARL® products can generally remain stored at room temperature.
The storage requirements are similar to many other professional salon and skincare products that are kept in a controlled indoor environment.
Refrigerator storage may be considered in particularly warm conditions where the salon temperature regularly rises above the recommended storage range.
However, refrigeration should not be treated as the standard storage method.
What Happens If BRIK & PEARL® Is Refrigerated?
Refrigerated storage can temporarily affect how the product behaves during use.
If Bond Flex™ or Bond Lock™ has been stored in the refrigerator, the full bottle should be allowed to return to normal room temperature before the product is used during a treatment.
Using the product while it is still cold may affect its operational characteristics, including how the formulation dispenses, spreads or behaves during application.
It is important to allow enough time for the entire product inside the bottle to return to room temperature, rather than only allowing the outside of the packaging to warm.
Repeated refrigeration above 4°C should not normally affect the product’s function, provided the correct storage range is maintained and the product is allowed to return fully to room temperature before use.
Why Should the Product Stay Above 4°C?
The minimum storage recommendation of 4°C is particularly important during transportation and shipping.
Products can sometimes be exposed to very cold conditions while in transit, especially during international shipping, winter weather or overnight freight.
BRIK & PEARL® Step 1 and Step 2 should not be allowed to freeze.
Very low temperatures can affect formulation stability, which is why the system should always be stored and transported above 4°C.
For most salons, temperatures below this level are unlikely to be an issue during everyday storage, but it is an important consideration when receiving or transporting professional stock.
What If My Salon Gets Hot Overnight?
If your salon becomes significantly warmer when the air conditioning is turned off overnight, it is worth checking the temperature of your product storage area.
If the room regularly exceeds 24°C, consider moving the products to a cooler part of the salon or using temperature-controlled storage.
Avoid leaving the products in areas that can become particularly warm, including:
- Near windows receiving direct sunlight
- Inside hot treatment rooms
- Near heaters or heating vents
- In vehicles
- In areas that experience large temperature changes
Maintaining a consistent environment is preferable to exposing professional products to repeated extremes in temperature.
